We watch you dance in the sunlight
admiring your graceful fluidity
your total abandonment
to your art.
We watch you dance from our windows
confined inside, with limbs
no longer able
to obey.
That freedom, which once was ours
lives on, as we watch
while you dance
for us too.
Written in response to Sadje’s What Do You See #44 photo prompt.

a lovely poem that expresses your frustration with the current restrictions … but we can still dance too 🙂

A surprise ‘first’ given the additional challenge of the dreaded block editor 😉

I’ve been dreading trying the block editor, for fear I won’t be able to go back to the one I’m used to, although I read that you can go back and forth?🤔

I managed to switch back at the end of last week, but yesterday I could only find ‘the block’ for a new post. It was a bit annoying, but I muddled through okay. Then I went to update a page and that was in ‘classic’, which is almost what we’ve become used to. I’m sure all will be fine with a bit of practice. 🙂

So many applications, ageing comes to mind too, I like how you tease out the meaning.

Exactly so, Paul. The body slows down and the dance become vicarious. Yet in our strange world so many have been living largely virtual lives, at least for a time.

Yes, I see some awareness dawning in our community on virtual life, a small awakening.

i love this Chris, as it brings out so many emotions for me…there is frustration, guilt, hope and love and yet at the end, one “dances” in perfect harmony

Thanks, Mich! Our mixed emotions lie only just beneath the surface, but we must all dance together in hope. 🙂

It seems we’re on the cusp of a local lockdown at this time, Chris, so we’ll have to watch on as the ‘free world’ dances too (should it happen!)
Another nice poem. I like your feeling of movement.

No bad. My birthday break went a bit long, but I’ll be back to work in a few weeks–I’m doing the whole Marie Kondo thing to clear the clutter and distractions. How are you doing?

That sound good! Actually I’m rather chuffed with myself. The wip novel is almost in the bag: MS completed – editor reading through – beta readers on standby 🙂 I hope they like it.

This strikes to my postpartum self–so many out and about when I felt trapped inside taking care of littles. Now everyone’s dancing off in different directions, and I can’t clone myself to keep up! xxxxxx
