She still remembers those days
ochre rays filtering
through gaunt autumn trees
casting patterns on the path
they trod together.
Days of promise, days of hope
leaves drifting downwards
crunching underfoot
creating crimson carpets
for them to follow.
And as long years drifted by
like autumn leaves falling
although far apart
treading different paths
they walk together.

Simply so beautiful Chris. Such an apt one for the prompt ❤️

It seemed appropriate to look back on this milestone prompt day. Also it’s autumn for most readers just now, even if it’s spring here! 🍂

Thanks, Val. Being far away and with no plans for travel, it’s memories I’m savouring just now.

So pretty! There is a nostalgic feel to this poem, kind of bittersweet. I can just see the leaves drifting downward and crunching underfoot! 🍂🍁

I love this poem, Chris. I am glad we are in spring though. Autumn brings winter and I don’t like cold weather.

Me too, Robbie! It wasn’t very spring-like here yesterday, but it’s much better today! 🌞

Lovely words Chris, absolutely adore the alliteration which is somewhat of a stalwart over on my own site. Big fan of Autumn, really enjoying watching the foliage slowly turn crimson. 🙂
