The red-headed writer, aka the Raconteuse, had left the Six-Sentence-Café-&-Bistro, as she walked through the slush and wintery rain; she had another rented place now, she had got a bargain and it’s right on the top floor, not far from here, and also not far from the Bartender’s pad.
The wind was picking up now; she began to hurry, while tightening her overcoat, and keeping her big bag close; she could hear a couple of yobs yelling, they were getting nearer, but she was here now, swiftly opening and closing her door.
She hurried up all six floors, it was certainly making her fitter; she unlocked her door, taking off her big bag, removing her coat, and kicking her shoes off, as she padded over to her very messy table; she looked out at the nearest window, while the night sky groaned and moaned.
She pulled out her smartphone, it had a new ring, not sure how it happened though; she’d heard two pings just now: one was from the Bartender explaining about something the tall, thin man had said, and the other was about another great friend, who knows all things about weather.
She returned to the table, looking around to find her many notes about weather, and she also needed her notes about the skies, the clouds and the rainbows, this can be awesome; she opened her laptop, waking it up, now she dived down to continue to write.
And yes, she talks to herself… but who doesn’t?

I’m pretty sure that we all do the same, and we do it most of the time as well. Such fun!

Loved this Six!
The Café (and Proprietors!) and…night a stormy night! What’s not to like?
Line I wish I’d come up with:
“…the night sky groaned and moaned.”

Thanks very much, Clark!
Plus, we know what’s going down at the SSC&B for those Proprietors (maybe)😉

Neat twist with (w)ring. Classic Kate Bush too. Thanks for the inclusion Chris.

Glad that ‘w-ring’ came out okay, Di! And, yes, wonderful Kate Bush.

Another good chapter Chris. She’ll be glad to get out of that wind!

All that dreadful wind and sleet, almost makes me shiver, even though it’s hot, hot here!

Good observation about talking to oneself at the end. I currently walk up five flights (if I choose to take the stairs). Six are doable.

It is good that you continue to walk up the stairs (if you want). It’s also a good way to think about all sorts of possibilities while walking.

It’s nice to have a cozy spot for writing while watching the storm rage around you.

A rainy night, a castle tower, and Donald and Kate! May the stories flow like rain down a cobbled street, night shining!

The name of the bistro, the flow, compact, but the feel of it for me – the flurry and activity, I felt that, resonance and so evocative.

The Bartender was tickled to learn the Raconteuse had rented that place. Could it have been anything other than on the 6th floor and the top floor at that?! Short walk to one another’s place, most convenient for swapping stories on the goings on at the SSC&B other than at the Café.
What could be better than writing stories during a storm?
Excellent Six, Chris. Btw, age brings with it the total unself-conscious enjoyment of talking out loud to oneself! 🤣

All fun, eh! Let see what comes this week, could it be a perfect storm, perhaps?

Its wonderful to have research topics to record right where you live. All her notes on the weather will be in a long story.
