Running down to Spar
my favourite shop
not to small and not to big;
okay, let’s do it.
First, some veg
toms, avos and lettuce
no, that’s not right
not lettuce but lemons.
Next aisle, bread
two types – bagels (yum)
and also Albany sliced
seeded brown and delicious.
Now over to the chillers
that’s two litres of semi-skimmed milk
six little yogurts – just plain
and obviously eggs, also six.
Looking at the list quickly
kitchen roll (always useful)
so now there’s only one thing
it’s for Luna – Whiskas.
Just to pay… and out.
Let me see, what’s the time?
I’ve shaved a couple of minutes off!
Excellent, and thank you Spar.

Nice slice of (shopping) life poem, Chris! Cat food is never to be forgotten. 🙂

Absolutely. Luna (my cat) always writes in capital letters, and she’ll write it at the top of the list. Of course.🐈⬛
Thanks, Dave.

Well, I’m always quick. I’d rather write/read than shop!

Gotta get the cat food! Funny how they manage to get stuff put on our lists, isn’t it?😂🐱

I’ve done speed shopping in the past – a list is a necessity! Now in retirement I’m a slow and careful shopper – calculating the per ounce cost and weighing the pros and cons of name brand over generic!

I am very impressed how you manage in those supermarkets. Well done, Val!

Thanks Chris – speed shopping was a necessity with 2 small children! The sweet spot between happy and entering the cranky zone….

That’s the first time I’ve ever seen shopping as fun, Chris!
For me it’s a necessary drag, one of the few down moments in my life.
Maybe I’ll rethink it, hmm?

Well, it was kind of fun, although it was mostly made up (of course).

Hi Chris, nice to see shopping being turned into something fun. It is the bane of my life.

That was mostly made up, since shopping is such a bore!

Ha ha, I think so too.

I did so much shopping and have so many leftovers from our family gathering that I don’t have to visit the grocers for awhile!
(Hi Luna… lucky, Luna!)

And yes, Luna is always right, about everything.🐈⬛

I did need some blueberries and easy peal oranges… I pick them up at a store that was near hubby’s Physio. 🙂
