She had been munching
a nice juicy apple.
She had just enough time
for a sweet and long sunset.
As she got into the ancient
de Havilland Tiger Moth.

black and blackest molten rock
violent, terrifying
ash is all around
flint, smoke, exhaust, fog, it’s erupting
raining down lava
it’s Madame Pele
she’s the goddess of fire
and she’s on the move
tangerine colours
from head to toe, amazing

N.B. – In Hawaiian religion, Pele is the goddess of volcanoes and fire and the creator of the Hawaiian Islands.

it seems to be a landscape
and it’s pretty accurate.
I wonder if I could get a bit closer
although I don’t want to put him off;
rather I should walk a little further
such a lovely lake.

I look up and I can only just see him
I craned even further
