Porcelain cheeks, rosebud mouth
hide cunning mischief
that lurks inside.
Dropping your decorous robe
lascivious lips curl around
murmured persuasions
nuzzling nakedness
your smile
beguiles
A shiver down a sinuous spine
foraging finger tips fathom
a sharp intake of breath
sensuous rhythms
rock together
forever
Dawn slides into morning
decorum is restored;
appearance is all.

The image shows a small porcelain angel sitting in a prayer mode.
Next time I look at a doll, I will think of this poem. ๐ค

I never would have gotten that from a porcelain figurine! Averting my eyes . . .

I thought the face was just a little bit too smug ๐

Great poem, Chris! The real inner being is always so much more interesting than the public facade. ๐ (Though, I had to erase the creepy kid angel pic from my mind as I read.๐ฌ)

Thanks, Susan! I agree about the creepy pic. I also have a thing about dolls and puppets *shiver*. Clowns as well.

I’ve been reading murder mysteries as of late… and I can picture some ghoulish spirit come to life in the shadows of the night….

Oh wow! Now that’s scary!!

I stopped watching a series that had ‘old’ spirits trying to communicate with the living to solve their murders. I need more humor these days ;D

I’m finding I’d rather watch lighter stuff too, Jules ๐

There was/is a whole new twist on an adult Nancy Drew series. I watched the first season – I’m not watching anymore…
Now I’m watching of all things a show called Battle Bots, besides home renovation, magic and cooking shows. I’ve even stopped watching police shows. Though I still like some of the BBC murder mystery shows like ‘Father Brown’ and ‘Shakespeare and Hathaway’.

You can’t go wrong with a cosy murder mystery from the BBC. Those are two of my favourites. I suppose we can expect a lot of re-runs soon.
