It had been in response to Sadje‘s What Do You See #113

  1. A lovely nostalgic piece. Feet up, eyes closed I do the same. Even moving to a new home in a new city one can feel the difference. But we settle in.

The title “It’s almost Christmas” — the days leading up to the Christmas always seem better than the day itself. And the day after is really a let down.
But I love writing and posting about the holiday. 🙂

  2. Chris you make it sound lovely! I need a changing season to get into the Christmas spirit. I was in Arizona one Christmas and it just felt wrong… It is raining here but will be turning to ice soon!

  3. Beautiful nostalgia, Chris, although the reality here is somewhat different – mild but very, very wet!!
I guess we all like to think of the past as being Idylic and being what we wished it might have been.
My very best to you and yours and here’s to hoping for better times in the New Year.

  5. We do adapt. I was born in the south, but am a very happy 4 season (transplanted) northerner. 😀 I’ve live oodles of places while growing up, but my last home (with hubby) has been stationary for over three decades. And my heart is here, my heart is home.

Wishing you and yours all the best for the season and the New Year! (((Hugs)))

    • Aww, thank so much, Maria. It’s quite funny looking back at this one, as it’s cold at the moment for me in August, so it’s kind of Christmas in the ‘North’. Although, I know it’s hot all the time were you live.

      • The north remembers, to quote Game of Thrones 😁. Ahh yes. We still have 4 seasons, the wet, wetter and dry/hot and drier/hotter 😆

Right now it’s quite humid but it does get a bit cooler at night.
