the journey begins
slowly, slowly
ebb and flow, ebb and flow
wave on wave, back and forth
the moon clicking on, waxing and waning
by month, by month, by month
the mind is drifting
the spirit is dancing
the body is shattered
but now the stars are sparkling
flinging around with joy
this is freedom

Chris, your poem beautifully encapsulates the rhythmic journey of life, with vivid imagery and a profound sense of liberation. The ebb and flow, moon’s cycle, and the ultimate emergence into freedom are succinctly expressed. Well done!

Freedom to see the stars… Now if the snow here would stop…
Maybe we’d get to see them. But for now I’ll be content to see the Cardinals, Woodpeckers and wrens at the feeders 🙂

The birds need feeding even if it’s snowing. You’ll have to wear lots of coats and boots then. Have fun!

The hanging feeders got filled. The squirrel feeders did not. It is only about 20F (-6C) – Sorry but the squirrels should be sleeping in their nests 🙂 Though I’m sure the birdies knock some seed out of their feeders 🙂

That looks very similar for birdies here too. I’ve forgotten about the squirrels going to sleep in the winter. It’s warm enough all year here (and we are very pleased about that too).😁

I still see squirrels about – I just think they should be sleeping 😉
I don’t see many when it is below zero though.
Only about 8-9 weeks until spring… 🙂

superb job on the prompt Chris. I love the eb and flow and ocean waves moving through the human body and spirit and the emerging starts as the body finds it’s way. Really gorgeous❣️
