the lanterns spring up
all around the world
little specks of light
filling up with glee
the colours are vivid
from crimson to mauve
as they skipped around with joy
what a beautiful globe

For the visually challenged reader, this image shows many lanterns floating into the night sky. Some are nearby are more visible than others which are far away.
Written in response to Sadje‘s What Do You See #238 photo prompt.

What a beautiful and joyful poem Chris. I love the happiness this poem brings. Thanks for joining in.

I try it again for both of those, but they didn’t come out. Most odd.🤔

A sky lit with the light of thousands of lanterns? How can one not smile?

The photo reminds me of the 2016 movie “The Great Wall” a fantasy epic starring Matt Damon and Pedro Pascal. That film had lanterns fill the sky as these. It was a wonderful sight as this photo and your poem Chris.
