Walking Boots

For the visually challenged reader, this image shows a pair of hiking boots suspended in the air. They both are facing in different directions and it seems as if they are worn on feet attached to invisible legs!

  1. This is a strained version of life if we imagine these boots as the turning of the wheel of life. Excellent verse! That’s what brings this song to my mind: keep the boots on till the end!😉💖🤙😘

  2. 🎵 But I would walk five hundred miles
    And I would walk five hundred more
    Just to be the man who walked a thousand
    Miles to fall down at your door 🎵

    A wonderfully thoughtful poem, Chris. The last line hangs in the air powerfully.

  3. This reminded me of the folk lore of Paul Bunyon;

    “Paul Bunyan, giant lumberjack, mythical hero of the lumber camps in the United States, a symbol of bigness, strength, and vitality. The tales and anecdotes that form the Paul Bunyan legend are typical of the tradition of frontier tall tales.” &

    “Paul Bunyan is a giant lumberjack and folk hero in American and Canadian folklore. His tall tales revolve around his superhuman labors, and he is customarily accompanied by Babe the Blue Ox, his pet and working animal.”
