I was never good at numbers, unfortunately. However, I have written so many things. When I was little I would write poems and small stories, and then in high school I went up to an essay each week. I am happy with all writing things – either pen or pencil with paper, and even better on my laptop now… but numbers? Really not good – apart from playing Scrabble, of course.
a pen or pencil
is mightier than a number:
wouldn’t you say, eh?
right, okay
strike it out, that’s it;
now, try it again
a pen or pencil
is mightier than a sword:
better isn’t it?

For the visually challenged reader, this image shows a hand holding a Rubik’s cube which has words written in some of the squares, that can be read from left to right or top to bottom that says; “ Figure it out”

I am surely happy with the latter one! When I was little, I was sometimes good at math (numbers) and sometimes chemistry. But writing was my weakness! I think you did well in the right way.😉🤙🌹

It often goes the way, doesn’t it. But I’m very impressed with your maths and chemistry! Although, I had to learn fire chemistry when I became an insurance surveyor… 🧯😂

Fun poetry, Chris, although Zorro or The Three Musketeers might have something to say about the weaker sword thing. 🙂

I agree! I was never good at math, even though my dad was a math teacher! He also spent years as the school librarian, and that’s where I think I take after him. And don’t take me to an art/writing supply store or I will get lost in the pen and pencil section!😂😂

You’ve killed it Chris! What a number when you are wielding the sword of a pen! Thanks for joining in with this fun poem.

Well, that was a fun photo, I thought. Interesting finding what other people wrote here – back to read soon. Have a great day, Sadje😊

Thanks for joining in Chris. Numbers were always my thing at school, but I did like to write.

Funny, I used to use my pen as a sword to tease my sister.
Nisely done, Chris. A great take on the photo prompt.

Nice one Chris. I like this is a poetic look at a writer figuring out their work. I love scrabble to!

Thanks, Mason! – I’m glad that you like playing Scrabble. I’m discovering that so many of us do.😊

I think Scrabble is a natural pastime for writers isn’t it. I anagram all the while from car number plates etc. its quite a wordy habit!

a wonderful response, Chris..I think we are always trying to figure “life” out… Most of us , at least. 😊

Exactly! You reminded me of school. When I was in the tenth grade segregation based on mathematical ability was introduced. I don’t have to tell you in which section I was! 😉

The joy of words can be found everywhere, my friend–including Scrabble 🙂 It’s always lovely to revisit those past words…sometimes a little sad, too, but they remind us we have the skill, the ability, the tenacity, to write on. Hugs to you! xxxxxxx

Oh yes, words are wonderful… let’s keep them here and also throw them all around us. You know, I am thinking about your very high wall… and that great house… and all those good and bad people… 😉🤗

Oh, they call back, too, from the Land of Somedays…we’ll find them! xxxxx
