The red-headed writer, aka the Raconteuse, had enjoyed Miami, although she had know that she should not venture into certain districts, since both the tall, thin man and the Bartender had warned her not to go there; but in any case, she was already going to Key West now.
However, she was still annoyed since she had been using her smartphone as she’d been reading and answering on Jetpack – they’re too many spam stuck under the radar, she muttered – see look, here’s D. and Reena, both in the SSS each week, and also two of my good friends, Aladin and Gary from WP (grrr).
Next she’d opened Facebook where she always looked at some lovely cats – there’s Misty with Dave Astor and Luna with Chris Hall (both of them are also WP people); she’d wondered whether the two cats might like each other (probably not), it was more likely at least one of them (meaning Luna) would open their claws… not good (moving quickly on).
But now it was time for the red-headed writer to grab her big bag and get off the bus; she was suddenly feeling famished but there was a nice café, and a few minutes later she was eating a hunk of bread and dunking it into her chunky soup.
She looked up… and then around… all these guys have beards, and all of them looked like Ernest Hemingway – really!
All she needed now was the Gatekeeper – was that him? she could smell the cigar just then.

Wow, Chris! You packed a lot of interesting stuff into six paragraphs!
Thank you for the Misty mention. 🙂 Much appreciated! If Misty and Luna ever met, Misty might contribute his share of aggression; he unfortunately seems to be an “only cat” type — meaning no cat costumes will be worn in our household for Halloween. 🙂

Well, my little Luna would always pick a fight (for other cats) I’m afraid. I wouldn’t presume for anyone else though. Interesting though that our previous two cats were more obliging – maybe it was their names – we called them Hemingway and Absinthe – figure out that🐈🐈⬛😉

One cat can be so different than another cat. 🙂

I agree Chris. Those guys DO Have the Hemmingway look!

Fabulous, aren’t they! And yes, I am getting the vibe about To Have and Have Not…

Aye… that’s him alright.
Gatekeeper is in the eyes of the beholder… or nose, in that case😆
Can’t resist a prominente like a Hoyo de Monterrey Double Corona and the company of The Raconteuse!

Well, this would be good – beautiful whisky and a finest cigar… the perfect mix
(should we go to Havana at some point? – the Raconteuse is rather keen about a Daiquiri)

I looked at ask the links in your post and found them interesting. Especially Misty the Cat. I proceeded to Amazon and read your review, so now I think I need to get the book! I wonder what Misty, Luna, and Foster would do if they all met up. 🤔🐱🐱🐱🐼

That book from Misty (and Dave) is really good and I would advise you to get it. I seem to remember that Luna said ‘hi’ with Foster and Panda in Cape Town by Bo-Kaap and that was good, so maybe all three would get on… (giggling) 😁😹😹😹😂🐼

That was fun! As a matter of fact, that story just got checked out yesterday from the school library!😀

I hope the Raconteuse has a chance to explore Key West and have some ķey lime pie!

Well after the Raconteuse had eaten her soup, she’d definitely eat a slice (or two) of the key lime pie!

Good stuff Chris! Thanks for the inclusion again.

I visited Hemingway’s Key West house once. I wouldn’t advise it in July, though.

Oh, how exciting to see the Hemingway house! I am pretty sure that the Raconteuse will be going there next week.😉

Oh, good! She will get to see the cat decendants and the penny Hemingway threw into wet cement when he was upset over his then-wife’s spending. And his writing room with the stand-up desk.

Yep, going to all those things. Yippee!!

Like women, it is clear that cats do what they always want, as the beautiful red-headed does. In any case, I am flattered to be mentioned by such a great author like you, though I must let my beard grow to reach that honour of being like Hemmingway. Nevertheless, I admire the free-spirited nature of the red-headed woman who does what she wants as she lets her hair dance in the breeze.😉💖🙏🌹🙏😘

Well, let’s dance together (figuratively), now that the spam has been freed – and good riddance! Happy day… including the cats… and all those Hemingways! 😉💛😊😹😹

I’ve enjoyed driving to Key West seeing massive amounts of water on both sides of the road. But it’s best to keep one’s eyes on the road. If you go to Hemmingway’s old house you will find plenty of cats.

I believe the Raconteuse will be itching to go to that particular house. (meow)

haha I was wondering if you’d bring Hemingway into the Raconteuse mix Chris. Great stuff as always.

I would love to have met Hemingway, although I am sure neither of us would have got on. Fun though😉

Great story, yes, you packed a lot in. A Hemingway look-alike contest? Who knew.
As for cats, if you want to introduce one, our Dansig the Round is willing to meet any other friendly cat and our Charismatic Enigma SissyCat will not tolerate any other cats, even the ones she grew up with and still lives with and fights all the time. They are funny creatures.

Yes, cats are weird, but we must not talk about them were they can hear!

The Raconteuse. Well traveled woman, no wonder she’s a storyteller. Hemingway look alike contest? Why should I be surprised, lol. The red headed writer seems to have had a fabulous time in Key West and now she’s off perhaps to…Havana??
Good Six, Chris!

I’m thinking that the Hemingway house will be the first place, and how long the Raconteuse would need, I’m not sure… but quite soon she’ll go down to Cuba, I know – bucket list?!

Hubby and I drove through down and around Key West. But didn’t stop to eat. We are not big sea food fans. I have heard of the Hemmingway look-a-like contest. Fun how you incorporated that 😉

I have a feeling that the Raconteuse will be continuing to look around Key West – food and drink, the Hemingway House with the many cats… oh, and I think the typewriter too.
