it’s almost Christmas
and trees are running zigzags
bark is peeling gently, buds are opening
and the showy lilac and mauve are vibrant
it’s almost Christmas
and the jacarandas are singing
as this is the southern hemisphere
and joyful music blossoms around the streets

For the visually challenged reader, this image shows a road that is surrounded on both sides by trees, the branches of which meet in a canopy over the road. Light from the sun is filtering through the branches and illuminating the road.

I’m sure you miss a British winter really!

It is. Although a little cooler from October to December. But I’ve noticed it’s even cooler in January, these past few years

Absolutely beautiful! It’s turning winter here though mild as Im in Los Angeles. Does having holidays over summer instead of winter make them not as hectic and commercialized?

Good question. I think the summer stretches around the beaches, the nature things – animals especially – the lovely foreign people, and in between Christmas and New Year. It’s busy, busy and fun, and more than 6 weeks!

Chris it sounds absolutely lovely! I’m hoping we don’t get a ton of snow this week!
LikeLiked by 2 people
Oh dear, I do hope not… or maybe just some nice snow just for Christmas, and taking it all away on the following day!
LikeLiked by 1 person
That is definitely the dream! But it is more probable that we end up in a snow storm and have to take 5 hours to travel 30 minutes!! (And yes, a little snow won’t keep us from celebrating with family and friends.)

Wow… that’s a long way. Be careful💛

It isn’t far at all – but in a bad snow storm it takes forever to get where you are going!!

How lovely that you have jacaranda trees in blossom now. Ours are mainly finished now and we’ll have to wait a whole year for them to come into bloom again.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yes, that’s right, our jacarandas are blossoming just now. I would’ve taken a photo earlier as I was in town, but it was raining this morning and it didn’t look great. Maybe this week!

I hope you get some nice pictures. It never rains here – I’m sure it must be a drought!
