hello
a new day
she is wistful
yet another tiny tot
will she be healthy and strong, this little one?
it’s Lily – that’s right, it’s your name, Lily
she holds her so very close
yearning, desperately
loving her
forever

For the visually challenged reader, this image shows a mama orangutan with a baby held very close to her chest.
Written in response to Sadje‘s What Do You See #276 photo prompt.

Animals can love too.

Lovely poem, Chris! Animals of course have strong feelings and emotions, and you captured that.

Well yes indeed… lovely animals! We only need to look at our cats, for example – and we know who is in charge.😉

Ah well… These orangutans are one of the great apes. You will find them in Borneo and Sumatra! 🗺️

The bond between mother and offspring – a mysterious and beautiful thing. We (all creatures) want success for our children and yet still worry haunts us. You captured that so beautifully with this poem….

We all have different fears when we see newborns. It is unfortunate for one reason or another that some… have a shorter time with us. Let’s hope Lily grows strong and healthy.
