Wow, he’s big
and beautiful,
regal too.
Staring out
on the gate,
what’s he thinking?
He’s hardly moving,
what’s going on
in his mind? (anything?)
I’m getting closer,
can I pet him??
ah – he’s purring!
That’s enough though.
He climbs down,
walking with purpose.

Lovely poem. He decides when he’s had enough, when he comes and goes. I always feel that way when I pass a friendly animal. I hesitate, “should I?” Usually, they pass on by before I have the courage to reach out and pet them. Entertaining tale!

I would be happy to do that, but not in my garden, since my cat would be very cross if I petted a different cat apart from her!🐈⬛
ps – I wrote back to you, but I think mine just dropped into spam (v cross)
Here’s what I said: Ho ho, that was really great, Brenda.
Plus, I didn’t expect that!

Hmm, I found them in my spam box (2 messages). Not sure why. Anyway, I moved them. Thank you for letting me know! 🙂

A relative just adopted a new kitten… a black cat. Hopefully I’ll meet him this weekend.
Cats own people – don’t they? 😀
