The red-headed writer (aka the Raconteuse) suddenly shouted, ‘THAT MAP’, while several people looked up and stared, after all, it was a library… ‘sorry,’ she muttered, as she thought… fortitude, I must be strong.
The thing was, she’d realised that the map – the one that seemed to move around – it was real (of course), not like all those things she’d made up, for example, she might use slang for certain things, even though she wouldn’t necessarily mean it, or something she’d pronounce making it completely right, even though it wasn’t – no problem if it’s just writing, but this map…
Meanwhile, Deborah sidled up, ‘you know that you’ve written several novels, and they have been released, so I’ll send a card to one of the other librarians to go to the fiction section, and I can look at your work, that seems sensible, don’t you think?’
‘Oh, I don’t think any of my books are in your library though,’ said the red-head writer, ‘only in Amazon,’ – ‘well, maybe they will have a little look anyway – trust me,’ said Deborah, ‘we can get things,’ as she winked.
The Raconteuse smiled, but she was clearly rattled, she pointed at that map again, ‘I’m thinking about my most recent novel, gosh, it’s a bit complicated as far as I remember,’ – said Deborah, ‘in that case, you could wait, like I said, just trust me.’
‘Okay,’ said the red-headed writer, ‘I’ll wait, and the map will stay here; I’ll do something in the meantime.’

I’ll now also wait here till i see what’s on that map 😄 There has to be something on that moving map. Oh, I’m on edge. I can’t wait to know 😶🌫️

Oh dear, sorry about that – that very odd map. I’m also wondering what it will reveal. Something good, I hope!🤔😄

Certainly there must be. But writers when they say good, they mean horrifying😆 🤣. Let’s wait and see.

Your plot thickens, Chris! “When a story has a map and some novels, what more can a reader ask for?” says Fortitude, one of the two stone lions outside the New York Public Library.

What a wonderful place over there. I shall have to google that – lovely lions!!
Thanks, Dave.

Chris, I thought you might have been referencing that lion when you used the word “fortitude.” 🙂

Well no, the word, ‘fortitude’ for just one of the ‘three things challenge’ for this Thursday. So the lion was just a coincidence – strange though🤔. However, the ’patience lion’ was even more unlikely in my thought! 😄

Ha, Chris! 😄 Your readers are impatient for your next installment. 🙂

This was such a fun read! The bit about the map moving around reminded me of how I felt watching the cleaners shuffle all my furniture around while getting my carpets cleaned yesterday—chaotic but oddly satisfying. Maybe I need a map to find where they put everything! 😅

Haha very funny, Jeanie! I would love to use your carpet cleaner – it’s so close to my made up story in NY, but sadly I am in South Africa. 🤗

If I were in charge of libraries there’d be copies of your books available for sure, Chris.
As for the map well, the mind boggles. This is going to get better and better.

Well, your books should also be there as well, Chris, plus several people we know.
But yes, this very, very strange map, I am still wondering what it will do. However, your boggling word, will be perfect – so that’s a good start!

Very kind of you to say so. Sadly much of our local library’s shelves are full of ‘popularist’ fiction.
And my mind is still boggling!

I hope I’m in a quiet place when we discover what’s in that moving map! Good suspense Chris!

Hmm, I’m suddenly thinking about the Pink Panther in that show. Maybe someone might steal that map? What do you think, Darnell?

That map is very valuable to someone who knows how to use it. Maybe have the gargoyles keep watch from afar…just in case.

Good idea, those two gargoyles – very useful!!

Between the video and this mysterious segment with the Raconteuse, it like watching a David Lynch neo-noir movie. Exciting!

I dunno if Deborah the librarian is to be trusted . . .

Hmm, I am wondering too, especially since Deborah said ‘trust me’ two times just now, and also last time as well.🤔

Yes, “trust me” multiple times is usually a tell.

“Encore” indeed, Chris. Performance art Six. Love it! I’m with Liz G – not so sure about Deborah (don’t call her Deb or Debbie), the Librarian. Seems to me she’s already figured out the Map in the red-headed writer’s (aka the Raconteuse) possession is extraordinary. Deborah’s weakness? She’s unaware of the red-headed writer’s experience with the extraordinary!

Hmm, do I know (meaning me… or her?) I am pretty dense at the moment.. I’m hoping that there will be in interesting ‘event’ next week, so I can take my mind off of this thing!
PS Deborah won’t be there… I’m sure.

Hey, if all you want to do is hang out and chill at the Café, the Bartender will set you up with a pink lemonade, Tom (hopefully) will break out some sweets to compliment and then we’ll see what kind of trouble everybody else gets into, lol
