a beautiful eagle
he flies up
such a wonderful sight
I look up and I can only just see him
I craned even further
and I almost lost my balance
on my window
then he dives down, what has he taken?
a mouse, perhaps?

This image shows a hawk-golden eagle, sitting on the grassy surface. Its neck is turned sideways and it’s staring intently into a distance.
Written in response to Sadje‘s What Do You See #296 photo prompt.

aerie to choose
little to lose
where eagles fly
and that is why

Wonderful photo, Sadje – I was very pleased to see that this morning (apart from my irritating laptop… still).

I’ve been lucky to see this birdie – in my neighbors yard – the legs were huge and powerful. I think that one caught a rabbit. Eagles have to eat too!
