I’m looking down,
in this interesting place,
I haven’t been there before.
It’s very beautiful,
and such a lovely day,
I’ve always liked France.
I’ve been over the sea,
but the warm land
is even better.
I’m a seagull
is there any food here?

This image shows the rooftop of a building, with turrets and a sloping roof! There are different birds sitting on the roof, including a seagull. There are bird droppings all over the turret, chimney, and the roof.
Written in response to Sadje‘s What Do You See #303 photo prompt.

snails pace

All that rich French food… oh, but oops – a guillotine? non!

Haha! The first concern of a seagull is the food. Loved your poem Chris. Thanks for joining in.

I could see it in his face, that great gull! Such a good photo – thanks for that, Sadje. 😊

What a great view they have. My father put the roofing shingles on our roof many years ago. I was always afraid he would lose his footing and come tumbling down! Never did! He would throw the old shingles off the roof and we kids had to collect them….hard job.

I love this from the view of the seagull. I often wonder what they are thinking as they hover over us. Well done, Chris.

I think those huge seagulls are only happy when they have proper food – like chips! 😉

No kidding, offer them a single chip and they steal the whole tray!

Is there food? With this view, the seagull will find it! Chris you are a connoisseur of food themes.

Yes indeed, food often features in my writing. I wonder why that is? What do you think, Darnell?😊

Love the seagull perspective of this poem, Chris! That bird says, “We’ll always have Paris” (for eating). 🙂

So funny Chris – food is all they seem to have on their mind!

It does seem so, doesn’t it? Especially those huge herring gulls. I remember seeing one of those in Llandudno who was digging in a skip… scary!

Thanks for mentioning about the birds-eye view, Penn. But why now I’m thinking about fish fingers? – something about Captain Bird’s Eye??😉

It came to my mind too, Chris,… and I bet those scavengers would scoff those fish fingers as soon as look at them, …😉

Ha. The “seagull” twist made me laugh, Chris. I’d lot to go to France even if I had to grow wings and fly.

Glad you liked that one, Diana. It’s a shame that it’s so far away to go to France for you, almost 1/3 around the world (I think). By the way, I’m reading young Erith at the moment… I am loving this!

Yes, it’s a long way for me, so if I go, I have to stay for a month! Lol. And I’m so glad you’re enjoying my Weaver, Chris. You ended my day with a huge smile. Hugs.
