my biggest trees
little leaves and buds
are all around the old oak
it’s spring in the air
birds and squirrels jump for joy
and so much new life begins

Val‘s Scavenger Hunt – first prompt
Write a poem inspired by leaves (dying ones or newly emerged).
For bonus points use a Tanka to express your feelings about the leaves.

So much wildlife depending on trees, Chris, …season by season, …(love the photo, …your Oak? ) ….💙

I am so lucky to have such a nice garden – a bit wild in some places, which I think is better. That very big oak is just in the next garden but it’s in the full sun and it’s lovely!
Thanks so much, Penn 💛💛

Hurray for spring! (I’ve been writing poems about trees lately, too, for some reason.)

Oh excellent, Liz! You have many lovely trees in your place, I believe. Big smile for that!

That was a good one to start with your scavenger hunt, Val. I’ll have a go with something else… more tricky!

Such a beautiful time of the year. Enjoy every moment, Chris. That radioactive green is gone too soon.

I’ve many trees but no oaks… though I do get the neighbors oak leaves in the fall!
And Oak leaves take the longest to decompose! 🙂

Interestingly our biggest tree is a very tall palm tree, but the next one, our oak is almost the same. Both are still growing… especially in the spring / summer.
