it is spewing out
black and blackest molten rock
violent, terrifying
ash is all around
flint, smoke, exhaust, fog, it’s erupting
raining down lava
it’s Madame Pele
she’s the goddess of fire
and she’s on the move
tangerine colours
from head to toe, amazing

N.B. – In Hawaiian religion, Pele is the goddess of volcanoes and fire and the creator of the Hawaiian Islands.

The volcano when it erupts shows both its anger and its resentment. Beautifully written Chris. Thanks for joining in

Thanks so much, Sadje. Scary, but a beautiful photo… inspired I felt.

Your words are perfect for a volcano. I remember someone who was close to a volcano when it had a minor eruption, he said it made him realise just how small and powerless he was.

Not the best place to go to something like that, I would think. But people do that, don’t they? Strange.
Oh, by the way, that spam thing is back again. I tried to post back on your side a couple of things last week and the week before, but it had disappeared. Irritating!

Hi Gary, just read your latest post. So sorry about what you said. Also I’m very annoyed since I see that what I’ve written has gone to spam… again.

Excellent song: Mama Laye · April Wine; plus, what a lovely idea, a pretty lava lamp – and now they’re back in fashion!

A lovely description of an amazing, and colourful, (but ever so hot) fiery spectacle, Chris, … marshmallows at the ready,…on a really, really long stick, …💙

Ooh, I do like that idea about some marshmallows. I think we should get some… and soon. What a giggle! Enjoy, Penn💫😎

I got to visit Maui years ago. No eruptions at the time. But we did get to visit some lava tubes that the ocean spewed out of! An ever changing environment! 🙂

Gosh, that was interesting. I have never been to a place like that.
