Dear Santa,
How are you?
Hope you are doing well
I bet you have already done most of your work
for this year
although there are many problems
around the world.
By the way, how is Mrs. Christmas?
She’s such a wonderful woman!
Oh, the reindeers and all those helpers,
also well – all good?
But now I have a little problem
and a little plea…
You see, the naughty spam
has been such a pain lately.
It’s all very well to just pop a ‘like’
but I really like to have a little conversation.
I very much like to post back
from anyone around the world
especially on WordPress.
So, Dear Santa
sorry about making a bit of a rant
but I’m sure you will be able to help.
You can have a little look to see what the problem is
and after that we will all talk again
and, of course, we will be ready to write
our poems for Santa’s post!
~~~~~
Val‘s Scavenger Hunt – 7th prompt
Write an Epistle Poem to Santa. The Epistle Poem is written as a letter. It can be a direct address, intimate or formal. The form is flexible – from free verse to rhyming couplets to a sonnet. The audience can be internal or external. The Epistle Poem is often used for moral, political or religious discourse.
P.S. This is all true, and if you haven’t seen me saying something on your post, that has been the problem on spam, I believe.
you’re a bit salty 😉 I like!
A pox on all spammers! And the digital horses they rode in on. (I thought the letter was going to ask Santa not to give the family Spam as a gift.)
Well anything might work… maybe, but Santa is pretty good. Also, should anyone want some spam (the can) not a problem – I’ll send it first class!
Chris, this take was inspired! I’m still in Florida so my comments are sporadic but rest assured I’ll be back soon!!
Chris, the relentless barrage of hucksters and scammers online and on the phone is annoying and a terrible time-waster. I hope Santa has a remedy! 💕😂🎄
Hi Cheryl, I totally agree. Just a waste of time. However, even more irritating is being unable to post back things on WordPress. A case in point. I read your post just now about Bracken Fern and I had written this back to you: How lovely. Gorgeous poems… and I knew the Lake District very well. But it went to spam… again.
I don’t know if you can get me out in that spam place, Cheryl? Maybe??
Chris, I will add your lovely comment to the post. Wish I could do more to solve your WordPress Issues. I too, have a couple of unresolved issues I don’t know how to fix. 🙁
Chris, thank you for going to the trouble of sending your comment again. I have posted it and replied. Hope you get your frustrating technical difficulties corrected very soon.
“Chopped pork and ham” (written on the Spam can) seems a bit redundant — as is the other kind of annoying Spam.
Nice “Dear Santa” letter, Chris!
Hmm, you don’t remember Spam in a can? Gosh, what a pity (not). Still, I am glad you liked my letter from Santa. Thanks so much, Dave.
I remember Spam in a can (with disgust; I’m now vegetarian). 🙂 What I thought was redundant is “pork” and “ham,” given that the latter is made of pork. 🙂
Ha ha, good point about ‘pork’ and ‘ham’… let’s not think about it anymore though!! 🤣
I remember when Spam was popular. Now it’s not the same as I remember, costs way too much and is ‘too pink’ to be considered a meat alternative!
I have to say I was never very keen at the time about Spam meat. We had to eat it at primary school. Not too bad if it was fried with some baked beans!
Ah, school spam fritters!
A work colleague gave me a spam recipe book, so this was included, as was sweet and sour spam, curried spam, stewed spam (very salty stock!), roast spam, fried spam, sounds like a Monty Python Sketch doesn’t it! We always kept a few tins in the cupboard as a standby, but don’t buy it at all now as it’s more than doubled in price for something considered totally bad for you!!
But no. No spam anymore! But ooh yes, I do remember that Monty Python sketch – great fun!
Maybe so… although it was a delicacy – ‘Spam n Pineapple’ – in Hawaii (apparently). Watched it quite recently on the TV. 😄
I hope it gets resolved soon. I’m getting the comments people are making on your posts. It’s really strange. I hope you are also getting them ?
I don’t seem to have a problem on what I have written. I check quite often to see if anyone is in spam and I pull them up. But it’s still very odd.
Such a great post! As for me, my commenting has slid to the bottom of the priority list–life got complicated. So I hope folks can be happy enough if I just “Like”–it’s the best I can do. Lots of love to you Chris, Rene💖
Hmm, not a problem at all for you, dear Rene!🥰 I am only cross if I can’t write back to someone I want to say something. If that makes sense…😉
Cheers!
