my little friend
Dawn is up, and already little creatures are on the move
Geckos and lizards are warming up, and skittering near to the rim
Young squirrels hurry down the huge palm tree and up again
The sky is tinged with pink and turquoise, doves are courting merrily
Male weaver birds are busy making many nests, looking hopeful
Dawn is up, and already little creatures are on the move
Pond skaters glide across the water, striding with purpose
A dragonfly flies fast, then hovers, seeking for a mate
Geckos and lizards are warming up, and skittering near to the rim
Bright butterflies with glorious rainbow colours dance with glee
And pretty flowers wave to the bees asking them to pollinate them
Young squirrels hurry down the huge palm tree and up again

Oooh interesting… glad we don’t have any Boxelder Bugs here! Right by you though, (google told me).

Those are the bugs that crawl in every possible crevice in the Autumn chill, and spend most of the winter creeping across walls & windows. Detestable curmudgeons, they stink when the snap them! Ugh!

Oh and ugh, indeed. Sorry about that, Liz.
Eish! As I would say…

Such a nice thing that you’ve said, dear Aladin. Thank you for that. Lovely spring, yes, although it’s rather changeable – three different seasons in a day in the Cape just now.

Ha ha, from April to October 😉
P.S. – I tried to reply on your post, but nothing. Dropped into spam (probably). Here’s what I said:
Excellent post, Aladin! I did know some of those things about those two, but good to learn rather more. I’ve read that very long book – always remember the guy called Starbuck! I have also read several super short stories from Poe, and of course also watched some of those ones many moons ago.
Do hope you are feeling very much better – and soon.

Nicely done. You have me missing Spring already and our winter has only just begun in earnest.

Sorry about that, V. It must be pretty chilly and dark over there in Alaska now.

Chris, this is a delight! It took me back and spun me forward – I miss Spring and I’m holding onto the hope of a short winter until Spring and I meet again!

Oh, I love this so completely. I will enjoy your spring as our day close in, darker day by day. We switch from ‘summer time’ to Greenwich Mean Time again this weekend.

Aha, yes… I will always remember those dates, and the only saving grace is that you can stay in bed another hour in fall!
