The Lake and the Moon
It felt like a dream,
a very strange dream, she’d been
in a weird island.
She’d stared at the lake,
so vast, so deep, exquisite
with gorgeous colours.
Hues screamed out: azure,
cyan, mauve, and even mango,
but over the top…
that blood moon!

If the colorful lake wasn’t there, I’d think she was on the moon looking at Mars, the red planet. Time to wake up!

I’ve been to Mono Lake (just east of Yosemite). Such a strange place. The water is very salty and full of krill shrimp. I remember the air had a very odd scent. Your ‘dream’ suits it perfectly because it does feel quite unreal.
