Ooh, a forest…
Intriguing, she thought,
as she walked around
this wonderful canopy.
It was vast.
It was magnificent,
and there were
so many different trees.
What else would she find,
as she continued to marvel?
Would she hug a tree?
Well, why not.
She was about to open her arms,
but then disaster.
It was a huge snake!
She backed away,
and stood there for a moment.
Then she turned around, and ran.
And she continued to run
until she was in the car park.

I am not particularly afraid of snakes unless of course I know they are venous and thus deserve respect! But Ooooooo the link took me somewhere magical!

What an awesome walkway! I clicked on the link and was amazed! So pretty, and I get now why the protagonist spotted a huge snake!
No extra fee to go on the walkway? Do I see another scam possibility for the MIOJ? 🤔

A scam? Surely not! I am pretty sure that there will be people who work there who will look after scary snakes there. But I still think that the name for that walkway called ‘The Boomslang’ is a bit odd. That particular snake, the boomslang, are very venomous, but not very aggressive (apparently).

Oh Chris, this is so southern African. When I was in the bush recently. A snake came out of the bush and went across the path, right over my feet.

Ooh very scary. It’s important to look around and down. We stayed in a cabin in Addo on one occasion. I was reading by the stoep and a very long snake came across the wall only about 1 metre away. I saw it, and I thought I was screaming, but know sound came out. But the snake, and it was a boomslang, just slipped back from the wall and down to the bush and off. Now that was scary… I still think about that!
