  1. Nothing quite like a lovely spring walk, pulled along by a happy dog —

unless of course, it’s the Blues Brothers, Aretha Franklin, and dry white toast and 4 fried chickens with a Coke. 😂

  2. Excellent SSC&B post, Chris. Nothing like walking a dog on a beautiful Spring day, especially if that dog is Hūnga. la Raconteuse will easily make her steps quota for the week, lol Wonder what’s in the box the tall, thin man was carrying?

Love the video, ‘cuz who doesn’t love Aretha 😎

    • consider yourself invited… you have a sense of the layout and who the ‘active’ characters are in this week’s establishing scene.

we sometimes refer to this as ‘a walk-on Six’ where we put our characters (one of, usually favorite) into the Cafe and let them become known…

fun (like the Open Mic reference I made in my Reply to Chris)… scary at first but fun no matter what

      • I have no idea if my introspective and rather gloomy style would fit if am honest.

my favourite character would probably be a michveous cat or something like that.

        Hmm.

        cats do like boxes 😂😂😂

        we have something in common

  3. ha! the terrifying fun of ‘live’ writing

one of the things I liked from the beginning about the Six Sentence Cafe & Bistro as ‘a place’ in the virtual world is it’s capacity to allow writers to spin a story like ‘Open Mic’ nights in a club, bar or cafe offers musicians.

Not merely in the challenge of riffing off the opening narrative (la Raconteuse arriving) but the excitement of seeing new developments in what we imagined when we first hit ‘Publish’ on our weekly Six’

I dig the enigmatic potential in the heavy box: “…as she smiled radiantly to the tall, thin man, as he put that box on one of the tables.”

oh man! what a plot device! (and, not for nothin’ but was she smiling radiantly because of the kindness and consideration of the tall, thin man in placing the box on one of the small round tables in the main part of the Cafe or…. because she knew what was inside the box?)

    ayiiee

Good thing the three (or four) people on their way to Chicago are deep in telephonic conversation as I will totally be returning next week to everyone’s favorite Cafe & Bistro.

    • Oh heck, and just as I thought that I might go on a plane, and maybe soon, since Chicago seems such an interesting place… hmm. She (or me) could stay in the SSC&B for a while… and why not? Plus, we must not worry about the stuff in that box, and nothing will be dangerous, rather just useful… like something will be around the tables later… we will see…

What do we say? Go with the flow!
