ahh baa-lambs
so very, very cute
delightful
skip and jump
there’s almost always
two, they’re twins
spring, summer
are both very nice
oh, but then…
they slow down
they’re more mature
just staring
so off to market
we must not mention this, no
bye, goodbye, baa-lambs
so something
very different now
more than good
we’ve some spuds
some lovely mint sauce
‘lamb for lunch’
~~~
I love to see gamboling lambs, although I don’t like to eat them.
Yes, love to see little lambs and lovely to see them in fields. Let’s not think any further.
Spring leg of lamb, with spuds, and sprouts. My favorite Easter treat served up by my mom!
A lovely poem, Chris
Much as I like eating lamb, I do sometimes feel guilty!
I think we are all in the same boat, like a gravy boat!
Our fields are full of lambs at the moment. Shame they are an industry 😦
Such a lovely time… I can almost see them all around in North Wales when I used to drive along the A55 Expressway.
While I do eat meat, I’m no lover of lamb. Don’t know why. Just… not
Hmm, interesting. I do like lamb but it’s so incredibly expensive here.
Nice rhymes about this cute and beautiful being, though I must admit I have eaten many of them! Such is life. 😁
Chris, the poem for me started like a nursery rhyme but the end was kind of cruel. I am sorry 😔
I know… I am sorry, really. But blame the #TankaTuesday last week! 😉
Oh no!! I love lamb chops, and lamb in general. Our mom used to make lamb chops for dinner when we were kids. But yes, it’s kind of sad to think where those lamb kebabs actually come from! 🐑🐑
I know. When I was a kid I managed not to think that lambs in fields were any kind of meat! Lucky me.
I do love lamb, but I hate the thought of killing them, but then, when I enjoy lamb for my dinner…so yummy!
