What a life he has,
no worries, no consequences.
He lives in an apartment,
not large, but large enough,
and right by the canal.
It seems idyllic,
and kind of it is.
However, he’s a poet,
and today, he can’t find
anything to say!

This image shows a man lying beside a canal in Zurich, Switzerland. His head is cushioned by his bag/ backpack and his arm is covering his eyes. Behind him, a boat can be seen traveling in the canal.
Written in response to Sadje‘s What Do You See #346 photo prompt.

Even that’s lucky- now he can relax and think about life. A lovely poem Chris. A few moments of rest and reflection are what we all need. Thanks for joining in.

It does happen we lose our words! Being a poet is hard!

It can be, can’t it? Still, we did pretty well this morning, didn’t we!
Loved yours, Carol Anne. 💛💛

I really love this, Chris. Some days are meant for writing, but also meant for RnR.

He definitely deserves a day off, though it makes me a bit jealous!
A dreamy home for a writer and a lovely poem, dear Chris. 🤗👍🌹

I have to say he’s a bit too good, don’t you think? Still, a nice idea at least for him!

Delightful, Chris! And it’s okay for a poet to say nothing once in a while. 🙂

Well, I guess so. Maybe he might just think… or daydream (that’s nice!).

like the image (the photo, too!)
the muse thing is fun to think of, though I don’t know if I would have all story ideas held by one entity! lol

It was a fun poem. Certainly idyllic if the poet can live off his poetry.
