What a wonderful villa, as she smiled to herself. Is it all for me, for a week and a half? But no, just a couple of rooms at the top. Still, that’s fine, as she climbed up the outside steps, while lugging her big bag and her rucksack.
She opened the door, and dumped her stuff on the bed, then flung one of the windows out and looked. Wow and wow… what a vista! This was absolutely perfect. She grinned a lot, but just to herself.
she is a writer
and sometimes she’s a poet
so what will she do?

This image shows a small villa in a Mediterranean island. There is a light blue gate and we can see stairs going up on the side of the house. Flowering vines can be seen on one side of the gate.
Written in response to Sadje‘s What Do You See #356 photo prompt.

A very beautiful piece, Chris 👍 That made me smile. ☺️

Such a perfect place, and yes, it must be one of the Greek Islands. I think I will say it’s Corfu. Great to paint and lovely to read and write. Happiness! 🌺😎🏖️

That is indeed a beautiful villa, Chris, and your piece is the icing on the cake. (The villa sort of looks like a cake. 🙂 )

Ah yes, you’re right, Dave. Some of those large villas do look like ice cream cakes. Yep, that’s the word… posh!

Haiku written, time to refill the creative well and walk about the town, then home for a late dinner and watching the moon rise over the ocean, glass of red to one side. Because there must be a rooftop deck and a comfortable chair up there…

It’s very warm during the day, so she waits until sunset, relaxes on the lovely enclosed patio, and listens to conversations carried on the cool night breeze.

What a wonderful, cozy response to the prompt, Chris! 🌿 There’s nothing quite like that feeling of dropping your luggage on the bed, throwing open the window, and taking in a breathtaking view for the first time. It sounds like the absolute dream setup for a writer—I can’t wait to see what inspiration flows from those top-floor rooms!

hey that moment right before the work begins the bags still on the bed, the window flung open, the vista waiting. And then the question: what will she do? Everything, Chris. But first she just gets to stand there and smile at the knowing. Perfect. 💙
Much love,
Khadija 💕🤗

Writing and reading poetry is such a lovely thing to do – both me and you, Balroop!
By the way, I have just read this one – ‘A Damsel of Buds’ from your Seasons and Crystals – it’s really, really lovely. 🌸
