Paris Photographer – Louis Paulin
The red-headed woman grinned happily, while backing back from the large living room where the two gargoyles were still busy working to finish painting the walls; they both pretended to be stern to her, but it was only because they wanted to make sure everything would be done later today.
The red-headed woman walked to the wonderful library where there were so many beautiful books, but on this occasion Francis and The Old One were playing chess, and very complicated too, since there were three levels on the crystal board game.
She watched for a little while saying nothing, since they were concentrating so much; so she wandered along the hall, where she found Joan and Scatty who were going to the huge kitchen just a little further on, since this was the place Mr Cushing enjoyed his cooking.
“Aha,” said Mr Cushing, “do you want to watch,” as he indicated some stools by the gorgeous streamline kitchen table, “I’ve already made some soup, and also roasted some baby potatoes which I’ve put them in aluminium foil for now, but then the main event is this.”
“I bought this earlier today, there’s a lovely market only a couple of streets away,” as he opened the fridge and took out a now filleted salmon, “it’ll be just ten minutes, would you lovely ladies want to lay the dining room table?”
And so they did, and such a splendid lunch, they’d almost finished when the two gargoyles appeared grinning, “we’ve done it!”

Chris, I’m delighted to discover that gargoyles do interior decorating, though I suspect “we’ve done it!” was timed to secure some salmon! 😄
Much love,
David

We are certainly interested to find what’s on the walls in the living room… bold, I’m thinking. Plus salmon, naturally. 😉
Thanks so much, David.

Dare I say they missed out on the meal?

Miss a meal? Maybe. But those two gargoyles are not that bothered about food! 😉

What is going to be their next adventure, I wonder

Appropriate, Chris, that a splendid lunch was followed by a “dessert” in the form of some kind of gargoyle accomplishment. 🙂

Nope. I didn’t like all their stuff, but some of it was hysterical ( like the Parrot sketch!)

I wonder what those gargoyles were up to. An intriguing ending and a fun story, and the Monty Python skit is funny.

Great episode Chris I love the idea of three-tiered chess 😀 but what have those naughty gargoyles been painting- I don’t think it will resemble the Sistine Chapel 🤪

A part of the Sistine Chapel has been painted by them? Don’t you think so? Maybe this is more modern, but who knows until the living room is opened. 😂

A three layered chess board makes a complicated game even more complicated. That sounds like a wonderful lunch and the gargoyles finished painting.

Lunch is always a good stopping point to gather and figure out what to do for the afternoon, too.

A library, 3 level chess board and lunch in the making… directions please! Should we be worried hearing the gargoyles proclaim “we’ve done it!”, lol Looking forward to next week’s adventure, Chris.

I love those gargoyles haha. And the redhead of course…
glad to read them again even if I do miss the SSC&B pieces at times. And when there are the café ones I miss Paris…

Nothing like a beautiful salmon and baby potatoes meal while the help…er…gargoyles finish up the decorating. Ready for more!
