Arches, arches… there are so many, and they are huge, more than huge.
This is wonderful, magnificent in fact, but it’s strange that there’s no-one around.
I shall continue to walk, slowly of course, I’ll stop almost halfway, it’s all ways good.
But then I’ll have a ponder since it’s most appealing, and then I will wander again.
and now I am there,
and the great door is open,
so now I’ll move on.

This photo shows arches in a hallway that are dimly lit. At the end of the hallway, there is light, as if coming from a window or an open door on the side. The consecutive arches give this image a sense of depth.

A very moving and vivid piece, Chris 👍

Excellent, Chris! (Among other things, I like the ponder/wander rhyme.)

Yes, I do like those words… ponder and wander – always nice to rhyme (or not)!

Ponder and wander, Alice got herself in a bit of a pickle doing just that. 😉

Oh yes, very true… poor Alice (she must be pretty old now, but doing very well). 😊

To me this is a slow journey of mindfulness – “it’s all ways good” – good always to move forward and all ways forward are good both for mind and body, love this 💞Suzanne

I picture this is me walking along those arches. Did you spy on me or something? 🤭
I truly loved this, Chris.

That sounds very plausible – such a giggle as we duck and dive by those arches! 🤣🤣
Thanks so much, Maria.

“...I’ll stop almost halfway,”
totally begging the question: where in an arch is the halfway point? when you stop entering and start entering
intriguing post

Those arches are a bit of a conundrum actually, but have we counted them from beginning to end?

The rhythm of stopping to ‘ponder and wander’ gives this piece such a lovely, reflective pace! I really enjoyed reading your exchange with byngnigel in the comments about poor Alice getting into a pickle with her own wandering. As Dave Astor noted, that rhyme works so naturally!

What a nice idea. Let us walk outside in the lovely warm sun, and maybe we could sit on a bench having a chat. What do you think, Balroop?

Sure! If you offer sips of mocha in between the chat. 😀
