Birthday Treat

Thanks to Colleen for the inspiration to write syllabic poetry. This week, let’s experiment with synesthesia.

Be strong?

For the visually challenged reader, this image shows two men hugging. The expression on the face of the man facing the camera is quite intense and emotional.

Walking in the snow

I can see footprints
but there is only me here
trudging in the snow

a moment later
and now there are two people
that’s so much better

let’s walk together
and do you know who it is?
it’s Piglet and Pooh!

For the visually challenged reader, this image shows a deep blue sky and mountains in the distance. The ground is covered by snow and a single track of footprints is seen headed towards the mountains.

Killing Spree

The image shows a brown wooden house on lake near mountain under blue sky during daytime

Fish jumps, gulps a fly
bright waterdrops scattering;
cracking lake’s mirror.

Turquoise wings flashing
snapping beak swallows a fish;
bobbing waves diffuse.

Brown-fur dives deeply
leaving lacy white backwash;
dark head surfaces.

Fish flapping wildly
between sharp-clawed greedy paws;
nature in the raw.
