The Clock’s Ticking!

Just to let you know that I won’t be around quite so much for the next 6 weeks. It’s nothing bad.

I promised myself at the beginning of March that I would finish the draft of my new novel by the end of October (this year), and then do something I’ve never done before, and which I’ve wanted to do for almost 10 years: NaNoWriMo.

2018 is the year.
It’s going to be a challenge because I’m going to have to plan this properly.
Starting…now! Well, soon.

I’ll be popping up for air to see what everyone’s up to, but if I don’t interact with you much, you’ll know it’s going well. If I do start wittering on it will mean I’m prevaricating which will not be so good. You might even find me crying in a corner of Twitter.

But let’s be positive. I’m going to get it done.

Wish me luck!

    • Aha! It’s short for National Novel Writing Month and it happens annually in November. The idea is that you write and write and write to produce a 50,000 word novel. It’s internet based and you can sign up to it formally, but I’ve decided I’m not going to go that far. Too much pressure! Nor do I expect to write that many words.
However, I do hope to produce a very unpolished first draft of a complete book. I’ll let you into a secret, it’s going to be a children’s fantasy story, roughly aimed at the 9-13 year age group, although I hope with wider appeal.
So my ‘Debra-inspired’ concreting project will also have to go on hold. Hope to have that done by Christmas though!
