Little girl tiptoes round the tree
Once I was a girl, just like she
All tousled hair and sun-kissed limbs
I wonder, what became of me?
A life well-lived, a love fulfilled
Time ticked away, my heart was stilled.
But watch, my love, and wait for me
to tiptoe round that self-same tree.

Very nice, Chris. I very often like to visit the ‘old’ paths I tiptoed down when I was young(er!) 😉 😀

They sometimes have a special resonance, don’t they? Like seeing yourself in the past. Back to the ‘timey-wimey’ thing, perhaps?

Oh yes. 🙂
Things were also simpler back then (or seem to be!), so it’s a way of a nice little escape.

I think we age like fine wine… we only get better – here’s to that time we can play with abandon. 😀
