each night, enveloped in scarlet
golden sun slides under blue blankets
gossamer strands of lingering light
caress cooling sands
waves wash upon the shore, breaking
breaking, unceasingly breaking
erasing away the day
each night, cloaked in obsidian
silver moon shakes out her gown
scattering glittering pennies
over wine-dark skies
waves wash upon the shore, breaking
breaking, unceasingly breaking
hailing a new dawn

The image shows a lighthouse situated on a small island. The sun is setting behind the lighthouse, colouring the sky in beautiful shades of orange and pink.
Love this wonderful poem Chris. Love how you’ve poeticized this beautiful scene. Thanks for joining in

Only enough to get me into trouble, even after 10 years here, I’m ashamed to say.

😂 Don’t be too hard on yourself, Afrikaans isn’t all that great anyway🤐👀
If I may ask, where are you originally from?
Sorry, I love to get to know people sometimes🤗

Day after day, alone on a hill
The man with the foolish grin is keeping perfectly still
But nobody wants to know him
They can see that he’s just a fool
And he never gives an answer
But… 😁
