Ah whisky, shall I have a little dram?
Beautifully mellow – amber, tangerine, and maybe musk
Come with me – it’s a journey
Deep into the highlands
Every step you’ll take
Fading in the mist
Granite unmoved
Hiding in full view
Isle of Skye, gorgeous land, so pure
Just be… spread your wings
Kites are wheeling in the mountains
Lovely place… just breathe
Morning air is fresh
No problem
Open the door, then go
Paddling in the sea
Quite bracing, but still nice
Rather good to eat outside
Six o’clock is here
Talisker awaits
Unicorns speak:
Victor, Wellington, Xena, Yasmine and Zacharia

I enjoyed the positive journey you took us on. Yeah, a wee dram in a cozy wool sweater, after a walk down and up from the lochs!

What a beautiful journey your wee dram took me on, Chris – Skye embraced.
And that clever ending with those unicorns. – they do like to have the last word – and lead the story to its zenith. 😉

I’m so glad that you enjoyed that, Jenne. It’s always good to see a couple of unicorns around and about, and now we know they names! (sorry, giggling)😉

Hehe! A wee dram and the result is an otherworldly experience! Just imagine if one were to consume multiple “drams”!!!

That would be rather ‘interesting’. Fun though, I’d hope!😉

Chris, this poem captures the quiet beauty of both whisky and the landscape it comes from. I shared your poem here. I’m really looking forward to reading more of your work. Best, Adam
