‘Wow! What a sculpture.’
‘Do you like it?’
‘Very much so.’
‘Is it made in bronze or copper, perhaps?’ He peered even closer. ‘Hold on. Are they real ones? I mean, real guitars?’
‘Sure.’
‘But how did you do it?’
The guy… the artist, shrugged his shoulders.
‘But, will you tell me… or is it a secret?’
‘Well, basically just lots of paint.’
‘Could I buy it? Although, I guess it’ll be very expensive.’
‘Not as much as you would think.’
‘Those guitars had been in a locker, but now no-one would pay anymore.
I got it for a song.’

This reminded me of something I read years ago. Back when I used to watch a program called Battlebots, there was a competitor on it who had, in a different venture, once attempted to build an electric guitar out of aluminum. Although it didn’t work, he then had much more success with magnesium.

Battlebots? Interesting. I think there was something similar in the UK – also ages ago.

I believe that was called Robot Wars. I recall seeing a few episodes.

Aha, got it! Robot Wars with Craig Charles. He used to live just around the corner from me, and now I am starting to talk like him, again – very scouse (Liverpool, UK). Just giggling now!

I love the story about the guitars – art can make one man’s trash into another’s treasure!

Exactly! It’s the kind of thing that my hubby might do… really!

You are so welcome, Chris! How are you coming with those floral arrangements? (just kidding) I know Bedelia’s bouquet will have some eucalyptus in it.

Synchronising poetry with music; brilliant! I might also paint my guitars when I realise I may never be able to play them again! 😁🎶🎸

‘Synchronicity’ – such a good word! Was it from C. Jung originally? – oh, by the way that spam thing has been playing up, again. I couldn’t say what I wanted to say on your latest post, I am afraid, Aladin. Sorry about that. Also, shame about you’re not playing guitars again, but maybe you might do? 😉🎸😊

That’s one of his topics — well spotted! 👏
There’s no need to feel ashamed, my lovely Chris. I notice it all the time when I see you subscribing to my site again! 🙏💖
And don’t worry, the comments on my last post about Egypt are closed. I did this because the previous ones were somewhat repetitive!
I’m still trying to play the guitar, by the way; so far, I’m still breathing, I promise.😅🤗😘💞

You reminded me of a show here called ‘Storage Wars’ where folks bid on what has been left in abandoned lockers… Sometimes there’s not much and other times big dividends… if you are into reselling 😉 Nice story.

Oh yes, I know ‘Storage Wars’ – on the telly just now. My hubby loves watching that… but I’m doing something rather different!😉

I can appreciate repurposing once their music has ceased. They’re still making art.
