Photo Prompt © Rochelle Wisoff-Fields
‘We went into a little supermarket, didn’t we?’
‘We did. Happy memories…’
‘It was in a foreign place and quaint. You remember?’
‘Greece?’
‘Not that time.’
‘No, you’re right, it was Turkey.’
‘We sat down, since there was a few tables.’
‘And we drank some very thick and sweet coffee.’
‘Then we had a little look around the shelves…’
‘… and we bought some postcards and we sat down again and wrote them.’
‘They even had some stamps.’
‘Then after that we bought a tiny bottle of raki.’
‘And what else?’
‘You must remember that?’
‘Oh, of course – Turkish Delight!’

Ooh, that’s a tricky one. Something to do with Greek or Latin? I’m thinking about a Roman King, called L. Tarquinius Superbus (a tyrant, or maybe a rant)?

It’s so fun to relive happy memories with a friend. I must say, I’m not a Turkish delight fan, but the story was sweet indeed! 🙂

I am giggling about that! Thanks for that 🙃
P.S. -I did write something on your blog, but I think it went to spam (so irritating).
This is what I said: Very nicely done. I used to speak a little Greek when we used to go on holiday to one of the Greek islands, but sadly my Greek speaking as disappeared – too long ago now.

Chris, I like the creative approach you took to the image. Wonderful dialogue between these two. Of course, the Turkish Delight 🙂

What an absolutely divine little vignette, you have crafted, Chris. Thank you for the flashback to Turkish Delight …. a treat I haven’t thought of or eaten for many years.

Thank you for that, Nancy. I also haven’t eaten Turkish Delight for years and years… now I’m going to find some, and I think I know where it is (Spar). 🩷

I was just in a small thrift shop this mornin and found some odds and ends.
A small ramiken bowl for a buck – worth 5! – I just picked it up because I liked it! And a little necklace for my grand-daughter too!
