Let me look at that river

  1. Wow! I’m always learning new words from you! I had never heard of Pooh Sticks before but when you said it was on a bridge I remembered there is a drawing from Winnie the Pooh where they seem to be looking over the side of a bridge and holding sticks. 🤔 Or am I imagining that? I’ll have to look it up. Thanks for the links to the Poh Sticks and Hobnobs. 😊 Such fun!

    • Aha, that drawing you mentioned, you were right about that. It was a bridge and Pooh bear and various other animals – Piglet, Roo and Rabbit – were looking down to the river. I’m just smiling about that since I still have the two books about Winnie-the-Pooh and The House of Pooh Corner, although they’re almost falling apart.

  2. Pooh sticks, lovely. Who doesn’t enjoy it. But there are fishes in that river. And not just the minnows we used to catch in jam-jars but trout too. Of course, we know the trout have ‘escaped’ from a nearby fishery (and good luck to them to stay free, I say)
