Another small boat around here? I keep seeing them.
It’s rather grey today, although that’s pretty normal.
Not hot, not too chilly.
It’s called ‘in the middle’.

I have been trying to get the right light, since it is important to me.
That little boat seems to be tacking back and forward. That’s clever.

It’s a granite grey sea, and a slate grey sky, plus a charcoal grey on the beach.
But just a pop of colour from that sailing boat would be good.
Ah, some ultramarine blue, a little crimson red, and a tiny bit of cadmium yellow.
Perfect!

  25. I really like how I felt like i was painting with the the painter as they observed so well. And for a second, i was looking down on my own handmade palette – with the colors you mentioned – especially that some ultramarine blue! Clever story – as you also let us taste the wonder of this beach shot.

      • Chris, I have not really painted in many years! And just last night I stopped at a local discount store to get a soap they sell – and I pondered some paints! I almost got a watercolor kit – and i might go back for it – but I even had some fresh acrylics in my hand – but time ran out and I had to go…. but your story is one more nudge to maybe do a little painting this season… I will keep you posted! xxxx
