“I’m sure I’ve given enough of this. Or maybe too much?”
“Don’t ask me!”
“Well, they seem fairly dry, but they should be okay for the moment.”
“If you say so.”
“I do.”
“Is that it then?”
“I’m just a bit worried about all of those. I wouldn’t want something to happen to them.”
“Like what?”
“Oh, I don’t know.”
“Indeed.”
“And look, they seemed to have perked up a bit.”
“Well, that’s a relief, isn’t it?”
“And, in any case, it’s not a huge problem.”
“No indeed. They’re only little triffids after all.”

I’d never heard of The Day of the Triffids. Is it a good book?

It’s an excellent book. Brilliant John Wyndham! I’ve read several of his… and all good. I read them in school. Sci fi was my favourite genre then.
The Day of the Triffids was a film back in 1963, and there was a great series in the UK in 1981, which I still remember… pretty scary it was too!

Love it! We already know the probable fate of most indoor plants that might make it to my house!😆 But Sunny the Sunflower could testify to the fact that outdoor plants don’t always fare any better around here! 😂

But little triffids grow up to be big triffids and they are not plants to be trifled with. I looked up “triffids” because I’ve not read the book, and it said they are carnivorous. Chills! Love the dialogue, Chris.

Triffids? I would call them deadly! Good novel – I read it many, many years ago, but I really enjoyed it. The movie was good too, and also pretty old, but I think still worth it to watch – seems to be free.
