Blogging and Poetry
“Do you think I can do this?”
“Why not?”
“It’s a bit scary, and I’ve never used a mic.”
“Never?”
“Nope.”
“Well, you can have a go. It’ll be fine. Trust me!”
“Hmm, I’m thinking about it. Let me look at all those wonderful books.”
“Ooh, I have got this… and this… and this as well.”
“Look, we’re in this one together.”
“It’s that anthology.”
“Great book… all those poetry people.”
“And almost all around the world.”
“Anyway, that was fun, but now I have to dash.”
“So you aren’t going to do this?”
“What shall I say? Later, perhaps?”

A friendly conversation! To do it on the mic, one must first do it in private!! 😉😅

That’s very good advice, Aladin! Thanks for that. 😊😂

Reminds me of my first time behind a microphone in front of my fellow pupils in school.

Ooh, sorry about that. 🤔

I’m not bothered by it. A couple of years later, I was on stage frequently addressing hundreds of people.
It all worked out well.

I know you are brilliant about that, and many things too, Ange. However, it could have been our conversation between us just now though! 😉

I like recording my poems. Doesn’t always sound good, but I try to express the mood of what I’m trying to say. Poetry should be heard. I usually have to record 3 or 4 times before getting something satisfactory. BUT I would never/could never get up in front of an audience.

Now that’s really interesting. I like your poems which you sing. Always lovely! I can see that speaking or singing in an audience is a different kettle of fish, so to speak. 😉

Chris, I agree, it’s much more comfy to write poetry than read it in earshot or mic-shot of others.

Dear Chris,
Trying something new can be a little intimidating. Nicely captured in conversation.
