My first flat!

This image shows a scene inside a room. There is an old-fashioned TV sitting on a small table. There is a big white kettle on the TV. There is a yellow bag in front of the TV. There is a wooden chair on the right of the TV. On the back wall, there are windows with metal grills over them.

  1. This is so tender. The way you capture that pride in the little black and white TV those small moments when we own so little but feel so much. And that ending with the suitcase. Beautiful. Thank you for this. 💙

    Much love,

  2. Lovely take! Guess most of us have started similarly…As a bachelor, just into a job, four of us used to a flat. So it was just a corner of a bedroom for each to call his own! And yes, the prized possession was a small black and white TV that we had pooled money to buy. Your piece brought back memories. Loved it. 👏👏👏😊

  3. In NZ, when I left home, it was called; and still is, Flatting. Being a flatmate in a ‘mixed flat’ or a flat (home) with another of the same gender. I transported my belongings in black plastic rubbish bags, nothing so glamorous as a suitcase. You’ve done a lovely job with this take on the prompt!
