The Lobby
“Shall we try that place,” said she.
“We could,” said he.
So the two of them moved up those rather grand steps. But then they stopped before opening the front door.
“It looks very nice,” she smiled.
“It seems pretty posh,” he grinned.
They looked at each other for a moment. Then between them they went through the door.
“Gorgeous,” said she.
“Perfect,” said he.
They both winked together… twice.
“I’ll go this way…”
“And I’ll go that way…”
They were busy for a little while.
“Okay, that’s enough.”
“Indubitably.”
So off they went, and quickly. And almost nobody noticed.

A very interesting story. A bit mysterious toward the end.

Thanks Thomas! I was trying to say that a few things went missing about the lobby. Naughty eh?

I like how you lead us to think there is a romantic tryst going on… then again, maybe to these two this is! They can roll about in the loot they purloin!

A good idea, eh? Handy to have some dosh just now!

Up to no good. Their “voice” sounded like two minor Warner Bros. cartoon characters, gophers who were insufferably polite and who tended to raid vegetable gardens.

Yep! Gophers again… (fun though). 😉

Strange that I had the idea they went to the toilets, since; what could they lift in the Hotel? Just me, so you made me wonder what they were up to.

Amazing how much can be nicked in a posh hotel, including in the bathrooms…

At first it seemed like a romantic couple. Then at the end it seemed like they were a Bonnie-and-Clyde couple.

Yep, that’s pretty much it, but no guns involved, fortunately.

Now I’m intrigued! I need to know what they stole and if they got away with it!

I don’t think I am able to talk about that. I may have been imprecated!

I thought they just went in to absorb the posh ambiance of a place they couldn’t afford.

It could have been just that, but I just pushed it a little more!

I tried to like 3 or 4 comments but jetpack wouldn’t let me 🤷♀️ Anyway, I thought it was a little romantic rendezvous as well..but no…very polite thieves instead! Nicely done!
