It was a good year, in fact, it was a great year, so many people said that.
Do you know why?
I will tell you.
Come, sit down here. Just next to me.
Ahh, such a booming town. Lively, busy, such a good place to be then.
He thought for a moment, and continued.
What a beautiful car. It was my first, you see. Very grand at the time. He smiled, showing his gums.
I wonder what happened to it.
You see, I don’t remember that.
Lots of things I don’t remember now.
Does anyone know?
I guess not now.

That is so touching. There’s so much we remember, and so much we don’t. 🤔

I think that’s the way it goes… so many years in our heads now.

Eloquently evocative, Chris. Times inexorably marches on…

Indeed. We are all marching from day to day, and it seems to be more quickly from decade to decade. But, such is life.
By the way, Dave, how is your big toe now? All better?

Thank you, Chris!
First of all, I meant to write “time” rather than “times” in my previous comment.
Yes, time does seem to move more quickly as we age. It doesn’t respect the many “Stop” signs on our local streets. 🙂 😦
Boot is off the foot. Toe is not perfect but getting better. I’m able to walk Misty the cat again, at least. 🙂 Thanks for asking!

Well, let’s not talk about time… or times, for a bit. I’m pleased that you can walk again, especially with you and Misty… I thought it was both of you together on Facebook again. 🧔♂️🐈

Ha! 😂 (Your time/times line.)
Yes, no more Misty video reruns with new captions. 🙂 That was SO 2020. And 2021. And…

I think my one grandfather had a car like that… interesting story too… He had discovered that his key to the car/engine was a master – but it was all good as he was a Sherif! 🙂
