It’s such a nice apartment, and she had been there for ages. She had been a worker for many years, but now she’s retired. Fun, relaxing and happiness.
She has a few friends, but not close, and that’s fine.
She doesn’t mind cooking, but nothing fancy. It takes too long otherwise.
She has her little table and her laptop, and she does bits and pieces.
However, her passion is books. Wonderful books. She continues to buy.
The only thing she worries about is this.
She’ll never be able to read all of those ones before she’s dead.
Sad but true.

p.s. I have many cook books too, and one of my favs is Aphrodite, the love of food & the food of love by Isabel Allende – if I could only have one book, it would be that. 🥰

My library card is my friend. My wife doesn’t like me hoarding anything including books, so I don’t buy that many and when I do, I try for digital because they don’t take up space. Still, there’s nothing like the smell of an older book and the feel of its pages between my fingers.

Libraries are wonderful – hooray for them. I totally agree, ‘proper’ books are best, however, I mostly get Kindle books (and that’s pretty full too).

Love this! It sounds kind of like me, (the cooking part) but not the book part, for me it might be audiobooks lol! 😂 Also, I hit something by mistake and accidentally unsubscribed from your blog😱 But I caught it in time and subscribed back right away! 😅

Aha, I remember that you listen to audiobooks – you are always busy with your hands with something or other. So very sensible for you! 😊
And yes, I saw that you had subscribed again (and phew). 😉

Lol yes maybe I’m ADD after all and don’t know it. What’s happening is, all of a sudden every time I try to read people’s posts on the “reader”, on my phone, none of the photos will show up unless I go to the top corner of the screen where the there little dots are and hit “view in browser” and the subscribe button is right below the dots. 😬A dumb place to put it in my opinion. Then I have to go back to the reader to like or comment because in the browser it wants me to sign in, which I would think I already was. 🤔 Oh well, as my husband used to say, “Who knows anything?” 😆🐱🐼

Hmm. I have to say that WP is more weird now. There are things in the background, I’m sure, and doing stuff… more than irritating! Ah well, we continue to read and post… 😊

Things in moderation bring contentment. Glad she has kept her passion, which brings joy. Books are patient and accept they may not be read. Good story, Chris.

I think I have that same problem. I wish I could find the time to read them all. Some I buy, and then gift to others. It feels wrong just having them sit on my shelf.
